Byfrost customers require a dedicated server on which to securely run the Byfrost application and store their electronic archives. Depending on customers’ preference, these can either be one or more in-house servers, or secure remote, hosted servers. Byfrost works with most common server Operating Systems. However, Byfrost recommends Linux for the server OS.

Byfrost Server Specifications - Minimum
Linux, with enabled Server Globals
Plesk, for easy management
Apache v2.0 or higher
MySQL v4.1 or higher
PHP v5.0 or higher with Safe mode turned off
WGET and Mcrypt activated
SSL Certificate, for secure connection

Customers with in-house servers

Customers with external hosted servers

Byfrost can be integrated with your existing remote hosting arrangements, in conjuction with your existing hosting provider. You will need to dedicate a server on which to run the Byfrost application and store archives. The server capacity will need to be aligned to the volume of archives to be stored.
